Bedazzled
And we’re off! Only a few weeks into the new year and we’re already knee-deep in awards season mania. If you didn’t get a chance to catch the Golden Globes last night, or at the very least the red carpet, check-out some of the show stoppers and trends that everyone is talking about today. Sure, Sofia Vergara wore 160 carats of diamonds worth over $5 million from Harry Winson, but here are the real things you missed:
Emeralds
Green may have been the dress color that dominated the show last year, but it was all about the gems themselves last night.
• Check-out the amethyst and emerald numbers Debra Messing chose to compliment her black Monique Lhuillier creation.
- Julianne Moore’s fun tassels added a pop of color.
Necklaces
What better way to show off some beautiful borrowed bling than to pair it with a sleek non-adorned gown?
• Heidi Klum did it with a stunning turquoise and diamond number by Lorraine Schwartz.
• Freida Pinto glammed-up her number with a Chopard bib necklace.
Headbands
Some of us wear headbands to workout, keep bed head out of our faces or when we’re having a bad hair day.
• None of these applied last night when Charlize Theron stepped out in that BREATHTAKING 1920s Cartier diamond headband. It was the perfect compliment to her light pink dress (one of 16 stars to wear the understated hue last evening.)
• A close second was Michelle Williams’ chic band, which looked great nestled in her short locks and matching her darling Jason Wu number.
