Reis-Nichols Featured Couple

Brooke & Adam

Enjoy this Q&A with Reis-Nichols couple, Brooke and Adam, as part of our "Your Story, Made Brighter" engagement and wedding feature.

Question: How did you guys first meet?

Answer: Brooke: I’ll just say, never underestimate the power of a swipe. We met on Bumble, and the rest is history.

Question: Tell us something interesting, fun, or unusual about you as a couple.

Answer: Brooke: We are both extremely different people, yet we seem to balance each other out perfectly. We push one another to be the best we can be and challenge each other in areas that need improvement.

Question: When did you get engaged, and what made your proposal perfect?

Answer: Brooke: We were engaged in Key Largo, Florida, on December 17th, 2023. We spent the weekend at Ocean Reef Club in Key Largo for Adam’s 40th birthday, and what began as a surprise weekend celebrating him turned into a celebration of us! The day before Adam’s actual birthday, we went deep-sea fishing—another birthday surprise—and ended the day exploring the resort grounds. Adam led us to a park by the water, which, to my surprise, had beautiful views and a surprise engagement.

Having alone time with Adam (before celebrating with others) made it perfect. It was just us, and I wouldn't have had it any other way (okay, maybe a photo or two...).

Question: Tell us about “the ring” – what makes it the “one” for you?

Answer: Brooke: To say I am obsessed with my ring is an understatement. Not only is it beautiful, but it also holds sentimental value. The diamond belonged to my grandmother, Elizabeth Bodner, who passed away in October 2023. The original ring was a European cut and in a very ornate setting.

Adam brought the diamond to Reis Nichols, and together, they designed a perfectly made ring for me. My grandma’s diamond is the solo central stone, and there’s now a hidden halo on a platinum setting with a yellow gold band. It’s timeless: something old and something new all in one.

Question: Where was your wedding located and when did it take place?

Answer: Brooke: We were married on August 12, 2023 at Lucas Estate in Carmel, Indiana. We had about 350 people attend.

Question: Were there any unusual or special activities at your wedding?

Answer: Brooke: We had a live painter (@artbyelise_kathleen) who painted our first dance. We also had late night Taco Bell and a cigar bar.
